Apply to Serve

Mayor-elect Satya Rhodes-Conway is ready to get to work tackling our affordable housing crisis, finally making bus rapid transit a reality, proactively preparing for the effects of climate change, and confronting and addressing the cumulative harm of racial inequity and injustice in our community.

To achieve these goals, the Mayor-elect will build a diverse team of inclusive leaders. She has five staff positions, and is looking for some of Madison's most innovative, talented, and committed people to fill these roles.

The Mayor-elect is looking for people who are:

  • Passionate about the City’s future and driven to make Madison a national leader on a broad range of policy issues;

  • Doers, who are ready to roll up their sleeves, understand complicated policy, and lead change in a complex, nuanced environment;

  • Natural collaborators, who seek a diversity of opinions, exhibit cultural competence, and work well across multiple constituencies and contexts;

  • People with demonstrated skills and experience on the policy issues facing Madison. A list of key issues highlighted by the Mayor-elect during her campaign can be found here.

You can apply via the City website. The Deputy Mayor job listing is here, and the Executive Assistant job listing is here
